Professional Scholarship Information

FREML believes strongly in professional training and the support of those seeking to develop their skills in fund development. Professional development funds are available annually based on the guidelines listed. Awards not to exceed $500 will be considered for all or a portion of the registration fees of the professional development course or conference selected. Additional expenses such as travel, lodging and meals, or registration in excess of the amount awarded, must be provided from other sources, i.e. by the applicant or applicant's employer. Funds awarded will be distributed by FREML directly to the training institution, to be applied toward the registration fee.

Applications are accepted throughout the year and will be reviewed by the Executive Committee at the next monthly meeting.


  • Be a member in good standing with preference to regular meeting attendance.
  • Be employed in the fund raising field.
  • Course is continuing professional development training for fund raising professionals
  • Complete the required form (see below)
  • Application must be submitted in a timely manner prior to event. Payment reimbursement will not be made following the event
  • Submit course/conference flyer or relevant information with application. (attach below)
  • Submit endorsement from your Executive Director or supervisor. (attach below)
  • Submit a copy of your resume. (attach below)
  • Submit a short narrative (150 words) on what you think the impact the course or program will have on your career in development and why you wish to take it. (see below)

The Executive Committee will review applications in an independent, objective manner and make recommendations for awards (not to exceed $500 and based on available funds)
